Faculty and Staff

Our faculty and staff speak a variety of languages and bring a wide spectrum of experience, interests and talents to the community. Dedicated to the students and the aims of the College, our faculty and staff are accessible in a way that is true of few residential colleges. They develop close relationships with students by sharing in daily life and working together to guide expeditions, teach new skills, facilitate workshops, organize lectures and recitals, produce plays, preside at meetings and, when morale drops low, help to restore confidence. They induce students to draw upon all their resources in challenges they face in the classroom and beyond. Through them the students come to accept that there are sensible limits to freedom and necessary safeguards in every adventure, whether on sea, land or in life.

The College’s faculty includes 12 IB examiners and 9 with post-graduate degrees. The teacher-student ratio is 1:9.
