RECENT ALUMNI GATHERINGS

London June 17-18, 2010
Two events were held in London 17-18 June. The first event was sponsored by Peter Sands, PC Year 5, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank. Peter hosted the members of the UWC International Board and several Pearson alumni at a dinner gathering. Peter announced his multi-year commitment to support scholarships for young women from regions of conflict to attend Pearson College. A second event was set up by Michael Geddes, PC Year 23 and held in a pub in Shepherd Market in Central London. We hope to have a couple of London Pearson alumni gatherings each year given that we have over two hundred alumni in the UK.

NYC June 22, 2010
Many thanks to Brett House, PC Year15, President of the Pearson College U.S. Foundation, for bringing together a well attended gathering on Monday 22 June. The gathering was held at the Yale Club in NYC sponsored by Ludger Hentschel, PC Year 8. Pearson College Director, David Hawley gave an update on life at Pearson and the plans to reduce enrollment at the College by one house, build the College’s fundraising capacity and renovate the student rooms.
